Boseln

Hello friends,
Recently Enno and I took a trip to the far north of Germany to meet up with some of his cousins and second cousins for a German tradition called Boseln. Its a game that is a mixture between bowling, golf, and bocce ball. We were separated into three teams and each team got a ball that is basically a bocce ball. One person from each team throws the ball down an empty street. The next person from each team throws the ball from where it landed. This continues on until you get to the end of the street. Then the teams turn around, plays until where they began and then they go eat. Enno tells me that sometimes there is a wagon full of beer involved and that then the game is better. We had a pretty good time. At the end we got to eat some Grunkohl which is a typical German dish that looks like spinach. I also tried brain sausage. I probably would have been able to eat it if I didn't know what it was ahead of time.
Love,
Courtney
